LADY MARMALADE — a citrusy, bittersweet cousin of a classic G+T.
Recipe by Susie Davidson Powell, The Dishing

The Cocktail: This zero-proof cocktail makes use of common kitchen ingredients: lemon, sugar, marmalade and tonic water for a bold, citrus-forward + bittersweet drink. Muddling the thinly sliced fresh lemon wheels with sugar releases the lemon juice and oils from the peel. Paired with the tang of the orange marmalade + bitter notes of tonic water, this is a N/A cocktail worth sipping.

*In place of marmalade, you could substitute a teaspoon of diced preserved lemons for a salted, more savory version, or add lemon sorbet for dialed up sweetness.

The Build:
4 or 5 very thinly sliced fresh lemon wheels
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon marmalade
4 ounces dry tonic water, chilled

Steps: In mixing glass, add the lemon wheels and sugar and the teaspoon of marmalade. Muddle until the sugar dissolves and the lemon wheels release their juices and oil. Add ice to the glass, stir top with tonic water and strain into a coupe. Garnish with dehydrated citrus or citrus twist for garnish.
