🎞️ In this movie short + talk, find out why bees, honey and “hive mind” are such enduring themes in film and philosophy as we bring together a film maker, a bee keeper and a philosophy professor for a fun conversation inspired by visuals and flavor. Featuring film excerpts from Pluribus (2025) to the award-winning Honeyland (2019) and Cleopatra (1963).
🐝 Our panelists are University of Albany professor of philosophy, Kristen Hessler, June Farms beekeeper, Nina Young, + film director, Micah Khan with intros by The Dishing's Susie Davidson Powell.
🍯 Bites by Simone’s Kitchen + honey wine + cocktails all tied to the films. With guest mixologist, Madeline Dillon. (Available in the café.) Come early for the film-inspired tastes, stay after to chat! You don’t need another Google meet or networking event. Come out and meet new friends as we chat about flavors + film.
