TASTE: PROMISE OF EDEN

Paying homage to sustainability + his mother’s hair salon, bar director Keshonn Hatcher gives us Promise of Eden

The cocktail: Promise of Eden
The place: {pretty to think so}, Rhinebeck

The ingredients: Barhill Tomcat Gin , Cucumber , Veso Tomato Vermouth , Super Foam , Yuzu

The inspiration: Named after my moms first salon, Eden Salon, now K Taylor Hair. This is a tribute to her beauty and her ability to make other women feel beautiful . I wanted to create an interesting gimlet variation that incorporated everything I cared about: Asian Influence, locally-grown cucumbers and a gin built on sustainable practices. Yuzu is the outside element but helps create an earthy, yet acidic tone with the tomato vermouth. This cocktail also actually boasts low ABV elements.

The build:
1 oz Tomcat Gin
1.25 oz Cucumber
¾ oz oz Tomato Vermouth
¾ oz Yuzu
½ oz Super Foam

*We make a particular super foam but one egg white solves the same or Fee Foam (available on Amazon)
To a shaker, add all the cocktail ingredients and ice. Shake and strain. Served up in a Nick and Nora glass with a small tomato or a seasonal edible flower .
