DOES IT TURKEY? Thanksgiving Wines for 2025
You asked us — so we asked the experts what they’re drinking this year.
Wine buyer Jes Rich, owner of Sage Wine + Spirits in Ballston Spa, meets the tricky task of pairing Thanksgiving wines with a question: Does it turkey? Miles Merton, wine director of Familiar Creature, Saratoga Springs, isn’t afraid to keep a little something on the side. They didn’t hold back, sharing 4 wines to get you through the tryptophan days (daze) whether gifting, pouring for a crowd, or saving a bottle for yourself.

“I’m bringing 3 bottles of Domaine Dupeuble’s Beaujolais Nouveau + Clos Cibonne’s Tradition Rosé to Thanksgiving.”
Wine No. 1: Domaine Dupeuble Pere et Fils Beaujolais Nouveau 2025 (France)
Does it turkey? “Yes! The Nouveau is juicy, refreshing, and full of cherry to bring your mouth back to life after taking a bite of your grandma’s overly dry turkey… Nouveau is perfect for the family because it’s both delicious and cheap enough that you can’t be mad when your tipsy aunts slug it down + go hunting for the next bottle.” - MM
Price: $19.95 Available here.
Wine No. 2: Clos Cibonne Tradition Rosé 2023 (France)
Does it turkey? “Personally, I’ll be hiding a bottle of Clos Cibonne’s Tradition Rosé for myself… A rosé from Provence made from the rare grape Tibouren, it’s refreshing with a savory complexity that’s gonna go perfectly with the traditional Thanksgiving accompaniments.” - MM
Price: $34.99 Available here.

”I’ll be drinking the Fjord Vineyards Estate Albarino 2024 and Domaine Reverdy Ducroux Sancerre Rouge "Beau Regard" 2022, in part because I like wines that are unexpected. It’s nice to bring something to the holiday table that’s not typical.”
Wine No.1 : Fjord Vineyards Estate Albarino 2024 (NY)
Does it turkey? “A recent revelation to me, Fjord lives in the Hudson Valley and is named for the river (also revelatory that the Hudson is a fjord!) Their unique microclimate allows them to grow varieties you might not expect in NY, including this Albarino. On the nose there's just enough gooseberry to make you think it could be Sauvignon Blanc, but the palate gives peach and nectarine notes lifted by a subtle citrus zing. The medium body paired with the acidity is very pleasant on the tongue. I'm considerably impressed by this wine which will pair beautifully with poultry and rich side dishes.” - JR
Price: $28.99 Available at Sage Wine & Spirits.
Wine No. 2: Domaine Reverdy Ducroux Sancerre Rouge "Beau Regard" 2022 (France)
Does it turkey? “Red Sancerre has nowhere near the notoriety of its white counterpart, but it's a great option for the Pinot Noir lover. Less expensive than its Burgundian brethren, this wine absolutely shines with bright red fruit notes and an elegantly light and round body. The domaine has been around for 14 generations, and that family knowledge contributes to a beautifully balanced wine that will complement your entire holiday meal.” - JR
Price: $27.99 Available at Sage Wine & Spirits.
